I journal a lot (A LOT!) anything I read and want to remember I write down, basically any thought that enters my mind I write down. My last entry for 2015:
Last day of 2015 and this year was the craziest yet. I really can’t believe that it has been a year since we found out that I was pregnant with Goldie – this day last year is the mark of the start of a new journey for us. We knew the year would be filled with change but it ended up being so much more than we anticipated. Another year that we made plans and things were going accordingly, but God planned otherwise and I know that neither of us would change that. We prayed God’s will over our lives and he was faithful in that. He drew near to us in our deep dark valley and set our lives on a new course. He sparked a new passion in us for his kingdom, new purpose in our daily lives and new goals. Approaching another year I would ask yet again for him to take us deeper than we are capable of on our own. Although the thought can scare me I know whatever that may mean for us he will remain present and in control. 2015 was a year of grief & sadness but great joy and I’m very thankful we were able to go through every experience we did. I would take it all again over a year of standing still.
More memories from 2015:
- I finally started reading this spring.
- Started The Hair Class with my friend Natalie.
- David toured europe 4(?) times
- Poppy found the love of her life, Peppa Pig.
- Visited California, New York, Arizona, Oregon.
- Embraced having shorter hair.
- Poppy started walking, talking, and is really working on her drama factor.
Hi! I have recently found your blog through random miracles of the internet and I have greatly enjoyed it. Your conviction and love for God through all of your trials are truly amazing and refreshing and I have loved reading your posts for inspiration in my life. What I’m about to say next is maybe a little out of line haha. But ever since I read that first post about your daughter I have felt impressed to share this with you. I am LDS and we believe that families can be together forever, even after death. We believe that any child that returns to heaven before the age of 8 is immediately given the highest degree of Glory (https://www.lds.org/general-conference/1994/04/the-special-status-of-children?lang=eng). I, in no way intend to "convert" you or anything haha. But I just wanted to leave you a link to a website so that you know that I, and the rest of the millions of people in my church, believe that your baby girl is in Heaven right now, waiting for you guys, in the highest degree that any human can achieve.

Most powerful words is that very last sentence…"I would take it all again over a year of standing still." It gave me chills. Your faith and hope in Jesus is so beautiful and what an incredible testimony you, David, and even Poppy get to carry with you…to be a light to so many families. Blessings to you three this new year! May you feel the arms of Jesus around you as you walk daily in His presence and purpose.
