That time of year

gargling salt water

David has had a cold on and off for the last while. It got me pretty good a few weeks ago but luckily I could spend a week in bed and fight it off. We have got the “cold routine” down now;

Vitamin C, Cold FX, Honey & Lemon tea, Chicken Soup, Hot showers, lots of movies…. I really love a good spicy Caesar when I’m sick, I’m not too sure if its exactly healthy… but it sure clears my sinus’!

Tell us your “cold routine” tips; how to prevent it, or soothe it, we will definitely give them a try.

    My husband & I have started taking Apple Cider Vinegar. He will do a shot a day… I can not handle that, I put a TBSP. in every glass of water I have.. Some people take it with raw honey. It's supposed wot help with a variety of things… allergies, flu, sinus infections, acne, sore throats, even give a rosy glow! We use the "Bragg" Brand & can probably be found at any organic store. I LOVE the smell of Vicks Vapor Rub but I am allergic to it.. If I wasn't though… I would definatley make these homemade vicks shower discs to throw in your steamy showers! http://beingfrugalbychoice.blogspot.ca/2012/03/homemade-vicks-vapor-shower-disks.html

    I love my Neti-pot! It's pretty gross, but super great at getting rid of stubborn congestion! My allergy doctor swears by it! Plus, it's all natural saline, so no weird chemicals!

    A clove of garlic, mashed, chopped finely, eaten. Chewing is optional, but I prefer to bypass the taste buds.
